He was surrounded by those he loved most as he made his journey from this world to the Kingdom of Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine Wade; his son and daughter in law, Darrin and Wendy Wade; his son, Kevin Wade; his daughter, Janna Wade, and his 4 grandchildren, Jeremy, Ivan, Bella and Josh; mother in law, Edna Avitts; sisters in law, Patsy Wade, Arleen Smith, and many nieces and nephews. Robert was born November 3, 1944 in Rockdale, TX to Claude and Eleese Wade and was raised in Friendswood, TX. After attending Bethany Bible College in Oklahoma he went into the ministry as a pastor for 28 years with the Church of the Nazarene. He continued ministering to others for 15 years working with Focus on the Family. Over the past 10 years he considered it a privilege and honor to continue teaching Gods Word in his Sunday school class. Robert loved God with everything he had and he was passionate about his family. He and Elaine never missed an opportunity to attend or host a family gathering. Whether they were taking the grandkids to Washington DC, fishing with the children or throwing a football in the yard, Robert was never happier than when he was surrounded by family. He also loved golf, football, baseball and the Texas Longhorns (Hook Em!). His tremendous love of the Lord and his passion for helping others allowed him to touch many lives. His sense of humor and his ease of conversation helped him connect with people in a way that is rarely seen. Robert was loved in life by all who knew him and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Eleese Wade and his brother, C Howard Wade. His Celebration of Life will be held at Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene May 20th at 11am in The Stone Chapel. The family thanks you for your many prayers and condolences.
