Terry Eugene Walton

Terry Eugene Walton passed away on September 11, 2017 in Woodburn, Oregon. Terry was born February 18, 1942 to Millard and Elizabeth Walton in Akron, Ohio. The family moved to California in 1946. He met Joan VanDermyden as a teenager and the two married in 1964. They later had three children. Terry served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965, and was a Vietnam Veteran. Terry and Joan moved their family to The Dalles, Oregon in 1979 and moved to Canby, Oregon in 1990. Terry worked for almost 30 years as a Director of Engineering in various hospitals in California and Oregon and was a good friend and mentor to many in healthcare facilities management. Terry enjoyed fishing, boating, stamp collecting, participating in Toastmasters, and racing pigeons. He loved to tell stories to friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Elizabeth, and his sister, Carol Ann Walton. Terry is survived by his wife, Joan of Canby, Oregon, son Ron Walton (Jaune’) of The Dalles, Oregon and daughters Pam Walton of Kamuela, Hawaii and Denise Davis (Steve) of Canby, Oregon; siblings, Marilyn Boudreau (Danny) of Cedar City, Utah, Brenda Logan (Bill) of Kanarraville, Utah and Ray Walton (Trudy) of Hemet, California; six grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley, Kayla, Adrianna, Louis and JJ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service is planned at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any diabetes, heart, or cancer associations.
