Suzanne Therese Rogers

Suzanne Therese (Marier) Rogers, age 78, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Belmont and Swampscott, MA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 15th, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Alice (Hickey) Marier and the wife of the late Thomas F. Rogers of Swampscott. Born in Cambridge, she was raised in Belmont and attended Matignon High School. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Boston College and a Masters in Nursing Rehabilitation from New York University. Her nursing career included teaching at Boston College, establishing the Nursing program at Salem State University, and serving as Director of Nursing at Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital and Chief Nursing Officer at Vencor Hospital in Peabody, MA. A devoted wife and mother, she was involved in her childrens lives through countless activities, and lived faithfully as a parishioner of St. John's the Evangelist in Swampscott and Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her three sons: Theodore; Joseph and his wife, Corinne; and William and his wife, Amanda; her brother, Dr. Robert Marier and his wife, Joanne; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Marier; grandchildren Aislin, Brogan, Reid, Elena, Lena, Audrey and Joy; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Mary Alice and Gloria Mary Rogers, and a brother, Vincent Marier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 22nd, with a lunch reception to follow. Burial will be at Swampscott Cemetery with a graveside service on Thursday January 24th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Corpus Christi Catholic Church 2318 N.
