Obituary Margaret 'Marge' Swiglow Gearhart Watkins of Colorado Springs died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, just a few days short of her 96th birthday. Marge was born in Aspen, Colo., on July 31, 1921 to John Frank Swiglow and Margaret Magdalene Devoe Swiglow. She attended school in Aspen. In 1937, she married Percy 'Dick' Gearhart and they made their home in Grand Junction and Palisades. Following his death in 1965, Marge married Paul Watkins. Prior to his death in 2001, Paul and Marge enjoyed spending many winters in Phoenix, Ariz. Marge worked for the Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years. She enjoyed travel, antiques, and was an excellent cook and gardener. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Marge was confronted by many challenges in her long life, including the untimely deaths of her only children and a grandson. But she shouldered these burdens with grace and strength and thanked God for every blessing. Marge is survived by grandchildren Shelly Harris of Peyton; Rick (Liz) of Denver; Chantal (Thom) Huson of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Jack Whiting of Portland, Ore.; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Palmer of Wenatchee, Wash. She was preceded in death by daughters Sharon Hines and Carolyn Whiting and grandson Scott Harris. Services Services are to be announced
