Obituary Quentin Dean Biever August 12, 1934 March 20, 2023 Quentin Dean Biever, "Dean", 88, a loving husband, father, and "Papa" passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023. Dean was born on August 12, 1934, to Mathew and Helen (Christensen) Biever in Hot Springs, South Dakota where he lived until after high school. In 1956, he received a BS in Accounting from CSU, Fort Collins, paying his way through college playing drums in a dance band. Dean was drafted in the fall of 1955 and proudly served in the US Army in France from 1956 to 1958. He received his MS in Education in 1964 and his Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Northern Colorado in 1971. His greatest love was his wife, Elaine (Simon), to whom he was married almost 60 years. They met in Greeley, Colorado on a double-blind date and were married May 31, 1963, in Greeley. They moved to Colorado Springs where Dean taught five years at Palmer High School and a year at Mitchell High School before taking a year sabbatical in 1969 to work on his doctorate. He returned to Colorado Springs and taught at Wasson High School, retiring in 1992. Deans pride and joy was his family. He was passionate about dancing with his wife, coaching his kids, spending family time at their cabin, visiting with grandchildren and attending their many activities. He also enjoyed wood-carving, ATV rides, his mens breakfast group, playing cards and spending time with long-time friends. Dean leaves behind his wife, Elaine, his son Terrence (Allison) Biever and daughter Laurel (Ryan) Reese, and 5 cherished grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Alyssa and Taryn Biever; Tyler and Katryna Reese. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Donna Lu Richardson, as well as nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Leo Simon and Harry Richardson. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. His kindness, gentle smile, beautiful blue eyes, and love for all will be remembered always. Dean loved the Lord, and thanked God for a wonderful life! Interment will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Celebration of Deans life will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 1:00 pm. at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Ave. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Pauls UMC or to the Humane Society in memory of Dean. Deans favorite color was blue. Feel free to wear blue at his celebration!
