Hubert Hargrove

Obituary Hubert Winternitz Hargrove was born in Colorado Springs, CO, on June 27, 1929, to Felix and Kitty Hargrove. He died at home on July 18, 2016. Hubert grew up in Golden Pond, KY. After the death of his mother, he and his father returned to Colorado Springs when he was 13 yrs old. He attended South Junior High and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army. Hubert was a floor layer and worked for El Paso Floor. He later started his own business, Western Floors. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all the Colorado teams, especially the Denver Broncos. Hubert also loved working in his yard and enjoyed bird watching. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Esther; his daughter, JoAnn (Richard) Motzkus and son, Michael. He has five grandchildren: Steven Motzkus, Annie (Mike) Celayeta, Jana Motzkus, Rachel Hargrove and Martin Hargrove, and one great-grandchild, Alivia.
