Peter Orth

Peter Downs Orth, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on September 20, 2018 in Huerfano County, Colorado. Burial will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, date to be announced by family. Arrangements are by Cappadona Funeral Home, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Peter Downs Orth was born in Quincey, Massachusetts to Gilbert Phillip Orth and Ella Pearl Downs Orth on November 16, 1936. He graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1955. He married Barbara Holden on February 14, 1959. He was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Air Force Longevity Award. He retired from the United States Air Force with 20 Years 10 Months and 20 Days of Service. He went on to work for El Paso County Tax Assessors Office becoming a supervisor and retiring after 17 years of service. Peter Downs Orth is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Phillip Orth and Ella Pearl Downs Orth. Peter Downs Orth is survived by wife Barbara Orth, son Mark Orth spouse Lyn Orth, son Russell Orth spouse Patricia Orth, daughter Karen Hughes spouse Scott Hughes, Brother Phillip Orth, 10 Grand Children and 8 Great Grand Children The family of Peter Orth wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center.
