Obituary James 'Jim' B. Thompson, 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Black Forest on November 26, 2014. He was born March 29, 1953 to James O. and Lela Mae Thompson. Jim grew up in Sidney and Ogallala, NE, graduating from Ogallala High School in 1971. He served 4 years in the USAF. Following discharge Jim attended the University of Nebraska earning a BS in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Public Administration. On September 3, 1974, Jim married Brenda Brockmoller. They enjoyed a loving 40 years together. His pride and joy were his children, Tami and James 'Kellon'. Jim was a probation officer in Lincoln, NE before moving to Colorado Springs in 1987 where he continued his career with 4th Judicial District Probation. Jim had the unique opportunity to work as a probation officer with the Juvenile Offender Unit of the Colorado Springs Police Department. He enjoyed the assignment, the many people he met and the friendships he made. Jim retired in 2006. Jim had many interests. He loved music, classical to contemporary and played piano. He had hunted arrowheads since childhood and always had an eye out for one. Every year he planted a garden in spite of the Colorado weather. He enjoyed cooking and liked trying new cuisines. And then there was his Harley. Riding a motorcycle was his peaceful place. He had ridden coast to coast and border to border with numerous trips in between. In addition to his wife, Brenda, Jim is survived by his daughter Tami and her husband Jason Beauchamp; son J. Kellon and his wife Kaylee; and grandson Nate Beauchamp, all of California; his sister Pam Thompson and JJ Jording (MO); brother-in-law Gary Frosh (NE); father-in-law Kermit Brockmoller (NE), sister-in-law & brother-in-law Kim and Jim Lingbloom (CO), brother-in-law Bill Brockmoller (NE), nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Frosh. Jim had battled melanoma for 4 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to further melanoma research.
