Memorial

Obituary Harold Wayne Katz, the man, the myth, the legend, was born on June 10, 1950 in New Bedford, MA. He went by many names; Happy Harry, Hawk, Papa, Murray, Harry, and Daddy Lee- well, those are just a few that we won't get in trouble listing! He never worried about consequences, and lived life to the upmost fullest. He loved to ride his horse in Palmer Park, walk his dog in Garden of the Gods, and ride his motorcycle all over Colorado- even with broken ribs and a punctured lung! Harry could make people laugh, even when it felt that there was nothing to laugh about. He was a storyteller, who could make anything exciting; especially when he added his 'embellishments'! You could always be sure that at least 50% of his stories were true, sometimes it was hard to know which part of the 50% it was. Harold passed away, suddenly, in the early morning of December 27, 2014 and left this world a lot less bright. He was pre-deceased by his father Joseph, his mother Barbara, and his younger brother Robert ('Bobby'). Harry is survived by his two brothers Michael along with his wife Carole, and Steven along with his wife Rita. He is also survived by his daughters Michelle along with her husband Joe and Roberta along with her husband Brett. Harold always told anybody who was listening, and many who weren't, that his greatest accomplishments in life were his grandchildren; they were his pride and his joy. He enjoyed spoiling them and spending as much time with them as he could! He had 6 grandkids ranging in ages from 10 to 18, Jourdan, Marena, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Jayden, Chelsey, and Alexander. Together, they will carry out his legacy of making the world laugh. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harold Katz Memorial Fund at Ent Bank, account number 663473.
