Jorge Miranda
October 2nd, 1959 - April 16th, 2020
Jorge Alfredo Miranda, 60, of Colorado Springs went to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 16, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jorge was born on October 2, 1959, to Candida Elena Miranda and Boanerges Miranda in El Salvador. He emigrated to the United States as a young adult, joining family members in San Francisco, California. His first vocational trade was upholstery. Jorge was always repairing something and working with his hands. He later earned certifications in electronics and worked in that industry for many years. In 1985, he met Linda Capesius, and they married in June of 1987, and they were later blessed with four children: Jennifer, Jonathan, Joshua, and James. Jorge was employed by L3 Harris Technologies, working as an engineering technician. Jorge volunteered with Women of Courage, a single-mothers ministry, working with their children over 25 years. He also enjoyed serving in prison ministries with Radiant Church. He was always willing to serve at whatever church he attended. At the end of his life, Jorge only regretted that he would be unable to continue ministering to those who need the Lord. His life embodied the Scripture: "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Phil. 4:21) Jorge was a man who loved deeply. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed many different activities, especially those outdoors: camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, but most of all just hanging out with those he loved. Jorge is survived by his wife Linda; his parents; brothers Carlos Miranda and Edson Miranda, sister Norma Miranda, and nephew Raymond Miranda, all of San Francisco; daughter Jennifer (David) Juhl, Colorado Springs; son Jonathan (Allie) Miranda, Richmond, Virginia; son Joshua Miranda, Waxahachie, Texas; son James Miranda, Colorado Springs; granddaughter Ashlynn Juhl; and grandson Bryson Juhl.
