Pauline DeNava
April 28th, 1929 - April 1st, 2021
Pauline DeNava (Montelango), age 91, went to heaven on April 1, 2021. Pauline was born in Pueblo, Co. and grew up along with 16 of her siblings: 5 brothers and 11 sisters. A family gifted with an abundance of love; her parents Luz and Maria worked tireless hours to provide for their family. Pauline had a heart of gold, touching everyone she met with good conversation, lots of laughs, wisdom, and kind words. She was a strong-willed woman, and fought a courage battle, never giving up hope. This is one of many reasons why everyone called her "powerful Pauline". It can be hard to find the right words to pay tribute to a woman who cared so much for her family and others. Pauline began each morning with a pray of safety and love for everyone. Always ending each day with a glorious smile of thanks to God. Pauline enjoyed walks through her favorite park and having lunch with her daughters on a warm sunny day. She loved her music and dancing. At the age of 91, she still knew how to bust a move, leaving everyone out of breath to her awesome swing. She loved a good movie on TV, so you better have the popcorn ready. Pauline was a huge fan of all sports, especially her Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, and loved Tom Brady. But above all she loved to gamble. Nothing compared to her favorite drive up the hill to Blackhawk and playing her favorite slots. Everyone stopped to cheer her on when she would get in the bonus round. Whatever Pauline did, she always had a huge smile and contagious laugh making friends with everyone she met. It is hard to say goodbye to someone so special, she was like a diamond, unique and precious. Pauline is survived by her children: Jerry, Daniel (Michelle), Nancy, and Gary. Grandchildren: Victor Lucero Jr., Robert Lucero; Maxine, Mark, and Roberta Cardona; Josh Esquibel, Larry Jr, LeAndra, and Lauran DeNava; Daniel, Jr., Gail, and Rick DeNava; Devon and Adrian DeNava. And lots of great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary-Jane, Margaret, Maria, Julie, Toni, Jennie, and Helen. Brothers include: Luz, Hank, Joe and Frank Montelongo. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Guadalupe, Children: Anthony, Rita, and Lawrence. Siblings: Pete, Vikky, Monica and Sally. Funeral services will take place at Romero Family Funeral Home on Saturday, April 17th at 9 a.m. for a viewing, Service at 10 a.m. Followed by the burial services at noon at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A reception will be held at the American Legion, 1901 Harlan St following the burial ceremony.
