Ruth "Betty" Langdon
February 2nd, 1924 - December 17th, 2016
Ruth Betty Langdon, 92, died at her home in Canby on December 17, 2016. She was born February 2, 1924 to Frederick and Evangeline Dentel in Oregon City, Oregon. She graduated from Canby High School and attended nursing school. In 1946 she married James E. Langdon, Jr. in Aurora, Oregon. Ruth was a nurse, volunteer and devoted wife and mother and worked on the family farm. She was a member of Canby United Methodist Church, belonged to the Volkwalker Club and the Canby Garden Club. She loved to dance and travel. She retired from Canby schools where she worked as an assistant Librarian. Ruth is survived by her son James III & daughter in law Kathryn Langdon of Gladstone; granddaughter April Maier and great granddaughters Mariah, Makenzie and Maleah Maier all of Gladstone; granddaughter Katie Gushua, great grandsons Damien Hunter, Ben Hunter and Gabriel Gushua all of Kent WA; Grandson James E Langdon IV and great grandsons James E Langdon V, Jacob Langdon, Joshua Langdon all of Renton, WA. A service was held at noon on December 28, 2016 at Canby Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Canby Library for a book in her name and the American Heart Association.
