Barbara Anne Cronan
March 25th, 1927 - October 25th, 2023
Barbara Anne Cronan of Eugene passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 of natural causes. At the time of her passing, she was 96 years old. Barbara was born in Michigan and raised near Bloomfield Hills. She was a loving and dedicated spouse to Harry Cronan. Together they lived in Eugene, and raised four sons, while Barbara worked in various financial institutions. Barbara was a strong, and affectionate mother who generously spread her warm love and caring to everyone, including her circle of treasured friends. Although Barbara was always modest, thrifty and hardworking, she was unhesitatingly generous to her family with both her resources and her time. After working a full day, she would come home nightly and prepare hearty, homemade meals from scratch for her family. There was never a packaged, processed or fast-food meal served at her table, which she always took great pride in believing them to be nutritionally, far superior. Barbara is survived by remaining family including her sons Steve of Colorado, Michael (Lori) of Beaverton and two grandsons John and Kevin Cronan, both of Beaverton. In October of 2020, she was blessed with a great-grand son named Maddox who brought a smile to her face. Barbara’s youngest son, Paul, passed away in 2012, while son Harry Jr. passed in 2017. A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, in Eugene, where she was an active member for over fifty-years including when mass was initially being held in a junior high school gym. She will be greatly missed, but many golden memories remain to warm the hearts of those who knew her. We take comfort knowing that God’s angel, Barbara is now with Him and her family. Services will be held at St Jude Catholic Church on Thursday, November 9th at 11:00). Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eugene following the mass.
