Antonio "Bear" Carlyle Blackbear
February 18th, 1979 - September 10th, 2020
Antonio Carlyle "Bear" Blackbear was born in Denver, Colorado on February 18th, 1979 to John Blackbear and Deborah Holy-Elk-Face and passed away on September 10th, 2020 at the age of 41 years old. Antonio Blackbear lived his entire life in Denver, CO. Antonio was a big kid at heart. He loved to wrestle, play video games and go to the park. He did anything that would make his nieces, nephews and kids happy. He shared a passion for basketball, which led him to coach his daughter and niece's basketball team, "The Ballhawks." He took great pride in the opportunity to coach all the girls on the team. Antonio had a humor so big and an infectious laugh with a smile that could light up any room. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 27 years, Valerie Barela; their children Jeovanni Blackbear, Jaia Blackbear, Josiah Blackbear and is preceded in death by Jodeci Blackbear; his granddaughter to be Unjinjinkta Win Tamayo; his siblings; Rosebud Blackbear, Tomas Blackbear, Lydia Martinez, Lucy Martinez, Arturo Martinez and is preceded in death by Cepreano martinez and Baby Martinez; his grandparents Fabian Howe, Sherwin Greyowl and Marcella Howe; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A wake will take place on Friday September 18th through the 20th held at 30 Wolff St in Denver, CO. at 12 P.M. His funeral service will be Monday September 21st at Four Winds Tribal church at 11 A.M.
