William Fred “Art” Arthur passed away on February 4, 2022 from health complications. He was born February 5, 1933 in Johnson City, Tennessee to Milburn and Frances (Melham) Arthur. He graduated high school in Johnson City and went on to enlist in the Navy. Art married Katherine “Kay” Arthur (Gipe) in Temple City, CA on May 29, 1957. Kay preceded Art in death on December 17, 1997. Their daughter, Belinda, was born in 1958 and preceded Art in death in 2019. Art retired from the Maintenance Department for the Springfield School District in 1995. Art later went on to marry Lucy Arthur (Stokes) on August 27, 2000. Lucy preceded Art in death on November 28, 2003. He married Sally Arthur (Griswald) on September 14, 2014; they later divorced. He is survived by his granddaughter Caitlin Malecha (Peterson) and her husband Josh and former son-in-law Randy Peterson. Art enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and dancing. He will be greatly missed. His family would like to thank everyone for their love and support. We appreciate everyone who cared for Art over the last few years at The Rawlin at RiverBend as well as Signature Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
