Memorial

Bertha Ida Medina went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Center, Colorado on November 19, 1934, to William and Lucy (Chavez) Torres. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister; son Feliberto Medina Jr.; and granddaughter Jessica Medina. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Feliberto Medina; children Robert (Julie) Torres, Gloria (Kenneth) Babcock, Trina (Gilbert) Duran, Anna Candelaria, Christina (Ricky) Valdez, Christopher (Blanca) Medina, and Patricia Pierson; siblings Louise Medina and Marie Torres; grandchildren Nicole, Darren, Robert, Alexis, Jennifer, Andrew, Justin, Angela, Daniella, Alexander, Johnny, Jacob, Christopher II, Erin, and Courtney; 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Bertha was very active and loved traveling the world, canning, crossword puzzles, casinos, and fishing. She loved her Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and souvenirs from different countries she visited. She was very proud of being baptized in the Jordan River and renewing her vows in Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle. Her family described her as very generous, caring, and a great cook. She was set in her ways and seldom lost a debate. She was very forthcoming and honest on the lessons she taught her family whether they agreed with them or not. The time spent with her grandchildren and calling them on their birthdays every year was priceless to them. Bertha was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. As her health declined she often recounted memories with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank all those who cared and provided emotional support during her final months. Pallbearers will be Robert Torres, Justin Candelaria, Alexander Pierson, Johnny Medina, Jacob Medina, and Christopher Medina II. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Torres and Darren Duran.
