Eva Dolores (Tiny) Ulibarri-Garcia April 24, 1928- March 22, 2017 88 years old. Our beautiful and beloved Dolores is preceded in death by her first husband Herman Ulibarri, and second, Bob Garcia, her parents Joseph E. and Adelita Montoya, her sister Elenor Abeyta and brother Patrick Montoya. She is survived by her daughters Aleta Ulibarri; Karen Mathews (David) of Los Angeles, CA; Cynthia Krein (Terry); Debra Sutherland-Core (Kenneth) of Solon, IA; and Tina Ulibarri (Wes Ingram); and her sons Herman Ulibarri and Benjamin Ulibarri; and her Stepson Paul Garcia of Richmond, CA; her grandchildren Christan Ulibarri, Noah Abelman (Caitlin), Tanner Krein (Tammy), Mathew Ulibarri, Elyse and Evan, and Kenneth Core; and great-grandchildren Savannah, Jourdin, Christian, Keira and Kenneth IV. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews (to whom she was fondly known as "Aunt Tiny) and beloved first cousins Marcella Cordova, Patrick and Angel Sanchez and Elaine Ulibarri. Eva Dolores Montoya was born in Bingham, Utah, a mining town that no longer exists. Her father worked the mines, moving to Trinidad Colorado and eventually settling in Denver where she grew up in a small house on Delaware Street. She fell in love with dance when she took ballet dance lessons with Lillian Cushing dance studio and later performed summer stock ballet in her high school years. She attended West High School where she met and fell in love with Herman Ulibarri. After Herman's Army service they were married on July 17, 1949. Together they raised seven children in Denver and Lakewood, Colorado. In between giving birth to her children she danced with a local Spanish dance group, Ballet Espanol, headed by Lucille Campa. A group of young women learned her beautiful Spanish and Mexican folk dances, sewed and beaded their own costumes and performed on several stages in Denver. She eventually "hung up her castanets" to study the bible. She was introduced to the teachings and biblical study of the Jehovah's Witnesses with a visiting relative. She studied scripture for several years and eventually was baptized into the faith on November 16, 1985. Also around that time she decided to go back to school and pursue a college degree. She attended Metro State in her fifties and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She was very proud of that accomplishment because the classes were very difficult and she was always the oldest student in her classes. After obtaining her degree, she started painting, beautiful oils and acrylics of flowers, adobe houses and landscapes. She had an art opening at a downtown Denver gallery and sold several paintings, but mostly she gave them to her children and friends as gifts. We all still have those gifts of her beautiful artwork. On August 27, 1994 her husband Herman died suddenly at the age of 67 and left her a jewelry business that she ran with her two sons and daughter Tina. They sold the business after four years, and she retired. She met Bob Garcia at a party; actually, they were reunited. She was fixed up on a blind date (by future husband Herman) for her senior prom with Bob. After having not seen each other in 50 years they fell in love. Bob converted and was baptized a Jehovah's Witness and they married soon after, and lived together in Loveland until he passed away after nine years of a happy marriage. Since then, in her widowhood, she developed many close friendships with the sisters and brothers of her beloved congregation. She is dearly loved by them. She is dearly loved by her seven children, her seven grandchildren, her five great grandchildren, her family from her first marriage and family from her second marriage. She will always be beautiful Mommy and Grandma to her children and grandchildren, Aunt Tiny to her relatives and Dolores to her friends. She will always be in our hearts.
