Jennifer "Jen" Kathleen Robinson Atlee

Jennifer Kathleen Robinson Atlee Feb. 25, 1975–Feb. 24, 2024

One day shy of her 49th birthday, Jen Atlee left this world, peacefully in her sleep. She lived and loved big and courageously enjoyed life on her terms, right up until her last breath. 

Born in Peoria, Ill. to Rob and Carol Robinson, the family moved to Berwyn, Pa. on Coldstream Drive in 1976 where she was raised. Jen attended Conestoga High School before completing undergrad and graduate degrees in accounting at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.

While at Trinity, Jen met the love of her life, Ben Atlee, and the two were married in the school’s chapel. Excited to start their new lives together, they moved to Colorado before starting their family. While in Denver, they welcomed Piper Grace and Lila Baran, both of whom mean the absolute world to them. Jen’s vibrancy, intelligence and passion is evident in these two amazing young ladies, whom she fiercely loved with all her heart.

At Trinity, Jen joined the sisterhood of Chi Beta Epsilon, where she fostered her strongest, lifelong friendships. Her daughter, Piper, who also attends Trinity University is continuing that tradition today in the same sorority as a Beta. The stories Jen’s Beta sisters can tell bring smiles to our faces - and we know Jen will live on in their hearts.

In her impressive professional life, Jen built a legacy highlighting both her incredible corporate accounting/auditing skills and her love of travel. Her work took her to a variety of global and domestic locations, where Jen never met a stranger. While travel was a major component of her work, it also became her hobby and love.

Her passion for travel was only matched by her love for animal rescue, especially homeless St. Bernards. Jen opened the Atlee home to many of the giant rescues in need; so many that it’s easy to lose count of the St. Bernards they adopted and loved over the years. She loved to regale friends and family with stories of their antics and unique personalities. It is hard to imagine her without one, or usually two, by her side. 

Jen will always be remembered for her love of rap, all things Dolly, baked potatoes, statement necklaces, driving the speed limit, always wearing her seatbelt, boots, rules, winning and self-righteousness. With equal passion she hated mustard, biased news broadcasts, the new rules for Uno and people who didn’t return their shopping carts to the proper location.

 We will always remember her witty (and sometimes long) Facebook posts that made us laugh or think about hard hitting issues. We couldn’t have asked for a better mom, wife, daughter and sister, and will miss Jen every day. Jen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. In the words of her favorite lyricist, Snoop Dogg, “How long will I live? Eternal life and forever.”

Jen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mary Houston, paternal grandparents, Omar (Bob) and Frances Robinson. She is survived by her husband, Ben Atlee, daughters, Piper and Lila, parents, Robert and Carol Robinson, sisters Katey (Todd) Martin, Ellen (Jeffrey) Gunder, nieces Miriam Atlee and Lillian Gunder, and nephews Eliot Atlee, Wyatt Gunder, and Keaton and Keller Martin, her in-laws, William and Penny Atlee, Dr. Carl Atlee and Dr. Aniko Bezur, as well as a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A celebration of a life lived to the fullest is planned for 10 a.m., April 20, 2024 at Margarite B. Parker Chapel, Trinity University, with a reception following at Korbell Great Hall in the Chapman Building, Trinity University.
