Mary Ellen Reynolds
October 23rd, 1927 - February 20th, 2023
Mary Ellen Reynolds (Marshall), age 95, passed away from her earthly home in Bruneau to her Heavenly home with her lord and savior on February 20, 2023. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband at Bruneau Cemetery at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 2, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held following the Graveside at Valley Christian Fellowship at Noon. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Mary was born October 23, 1927, to Benjamin H. and Ella R. Marshall (West) and raised in Rupert, Idaho, with younger sister Joan. Mary and Joan’s grandparent were some of the original homesteaders on the Minidoka project. After graduating from Rupert High School, Mary worked for Idaho First National Bank in Rupert. It was during this time that she met and married the love of her life Dick in 1951. They remained in the Rupert area where they farmed. It was there they were blessed with 2 children Matt and Jeannine. In 1964 the family relocated to Gooding where they operated Reynolds Sawmill. The family later moved to Bruneau in 1972 where they returned to farming. You could always find Mary at church on Sundays singing in the choir or teaching Sunday school. She was an active member in every community she lived in and joined clubs such as the Red Hat Society. In her free time, she enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, cultivating beautiful flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary’s love of her family was profound. Mary’s favorite activity was when Dick would take her to CJ Strike every night to watch the sunset over the Owyhee Mountains, an activity the couple continued to do into their 90’s. Mary is survived by her children Matt (Joella), Jeannine, grandchildren Jennifer, Janelle (Jeremy), Megan (Ryan), Brett, Shanna (Billy), 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Mary was proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Joan, and a grandson Billy. Mary was beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend who will forever be in our minds and hearts. The family wants to thank our many friends and neighbors, the Hospice Home and Health, the Grandview EMTs, and Bruneau Quick Response.

We Entrusted Mary Reynolds's Care To
Rost Funeral Home
As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
