It is with great sadness that the family of Shirlee Ann Derry Bart announces her passing on August 20, 2018, at the age of 80 years. Born in Park City, Utah, Shirl attended school in Salt Lake City and moved with her husband and three children to Boise in 1967, where she raised her family. She worked in various fields including real estate and music retail, and eventually retired as an administrative assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she had moved to marry her second husband, James D. Bart. They were married for 32 happy years. Shirl was an exceptionally bright, compassionate and loving person. She had a lightning-fast sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke or unconventional circumstance—right up until the end of her life. She loved her friends and her yorkipoo dog, Max, and provided unconditional love and unwavering devotion to her family. Shirl married the final love of her life, Norman “Norm” D. Baker, in Arizona in 2011, and they moved to Boise in 2016, where she could be close to her children and grandchildren. Their twilight relationship was beautiful and loving and Norm was with her until the very end. Her life will be remembered through her spouse, Norm; her three children, Terry Sevy (Andrea Jackson), Cory Sevy and Jil Sevy (Michael Bunnell); four step-children, Terry Bart (Benji), Kip Bart, Jill Del Grande (Craig) and Holly Strebel (Scott); her grandchildren, Piper Jackson-Sevy, Connor Jackson-Sevy, Zachary Sevy, Ian Bunnell and Eric Bunnell; eight step-grandchildren, TJ Bart, Erica Bart, Justin Bart, Josh Bart, Jessica Del Grande, Tyrell Del Grande, Elyse Strebel and Matthew Strebel; brother, Jim Derry (Diane); nieces, Denise Silver, Patty Toilion, and Renae Loring; and Norm’s children, Wade (Jan) Baker and Lance (Cassie) Baker and their families. Shirl is survived by additional lovely step great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her first husband, James R. Sevy, her second husband, James D. Bart, and her parents, Francis Pearson and Vera Isaacson Derry. The family would like to thank the staff of MorningStar Memory Care at Englefield Green for their loving care and support of Shirl. We will miss you and will keep you in our hearts forever.
