Glenda Hill, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2018. She passed away peacefully due to a heart attack while surrounded by family. She was born September 13, 1936 in Boise, Idaho to Joseph Michael Hugg and Evelyn Hurd Hugg. She grew up with her sisters, Peggy and Francie, and loved them both dearly. She attended Boise High School and graduated in 1954. Her first love was dancing and she took lessons at the Miramar ballroom. Glenda married Linvel Ray Hill on April 9, 1955 and had two children, Michael Gene and Gina Marie. They moved to Mountain Home in 1961 and opened Elmore Glass and Paint. During their 32 years of marriage they were active in the Shriners and Tin Lizzy group. Glenda was member of the Jay-C-ettes, the dance team booster club and multiple bowling leagues. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and Tole painting. One of her greatest joys in life was being a homemaker and a mother. Glenda was baptized Christmas Day 1955 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lewisburg, Kentucky. She was steadfast in her faith and said, “You can never read the Bible enough or pray enough. And when you need it most it is there in your heart and mind.” She cherished her family and friends and lived her faith in her daily walk. Glenda is survived by son Michael Hill; daughter Gina (Hill) Mendiola and husband Randy; granddaughter Cassi (Mendiola) Watkins and husband Eric; great-granddaughter Audrey Marie Watkins; brother-in-law Ron Brabec, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brother-in-law John Garner. Glenda will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held May 7, 2018 at 11 o’clock at Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Summers Funeral Home, casual dress please, with a reception to follow at Eagle United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
