Sierra Bush
April 11th, 1998 - September 25th, 2016
My Life Story Sierra Ashley Bush was born on April 11, 1998. She was a happy baby that grew into a young person that loved life all along the way. She loved her stuffed animals and her favorite foods were crab legs and steak at a young age. Her first dress up outfits came from the Disney store, which she relished. Her food tastes would mature into things like sushi and lasagne. Her dress up outfits became cosplays. She was almost always working on what the next cosplay outfit would be. We sewed, hot glued, and used paints and markers on several occasions to get them just right. Sierra always loved school. She helped pick out the pre-school/Montessori school she would attend, saying she wanted that one because they taught Spanish and she wanted to learn that. When she first started pre-school at 4 years old, she became upset within the first few days. I had told her that she would learn how to start reading at pre-school. When I came to pick her up on the second or third day the care taker told me that she had cried because she hadn't learned how to read yet. They immediately started her on the "Dick and Jane" books and sent one home with me. She loved reading especially when she didn't have to read out loud any more. Sierra and her dad, Phil Bush, went through several series of books including, Fable Haven, Harry Potter, and Leviathan. Sierra loved gears at an early age and excelled at Chaparral Elementary school when that unit was taught. She loved art and blossomed in these classes at Meridian Middle where she also took Honors English and Honors Science. Meridian Technical Charter High School gave her the opportunity to focus in an area of technology. Sierra thought she would focus on Media Arts, but then she had computer programming and thought that would be her focus. When she had electronics, then she knew that's what she was going to concentrate on. She obtained an internship at Boise State University in the electronics lab her senior year and continued to go after all of her hours were done because she liked working on the research project they were doing. She obtained over twelve college credits while in high school. Sierra was just beginning her adult life and blossoming in ways that made us proud. I loved her courage, her work ethic, her fun loving attitude, her ability to start a movement and looked forward to seeing what else she would do and who she would become. Sierra loved being outdoors, hiking and camping during the summer and skiing during the winter. Thanks to Bart Green, her stepdad, for teaching her downhill skiing. She took to it right away and was excited every time we bought ski passes for Bogus. She was also very excited when she got to go on school ski trips to Brundage. Boise State University was the place she wanted to go to college and there was nothing I could do to get her to apply anywhere else. She applied early last fall and was accepted shortly thereafter. The Honors College was also on her radar and she applied to that shortly after an event we went to at BSU put on by the Honors College. She was excited and thrilled when she received her acceptance letter. By all accounts, she was excelling in many ways at BSU. Sierra is survived by me, her mother, Mary Helen Green; her stepdad, Bart Green, her dad, Phil Bush; her two half-sisters, Melanie and Cory Bush; her step-brother, Nick Green and her step-sister, Diana Green; and two step-grandmothers, Lorraine Wight and Hilary Green. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that are too many to mention. Sierra was taken from this world on or about September 25, 2016. She touched so many lives, inspiring everyone to enjoy life and be themselves. We will all miss her dearly. We now have another angel watching over us and as a friend of mine wrote to me recently, "Now she flies with the butterflies." Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
