Alice DeLoraine Jones
July 14th, 2016
Alice DeLoraine Jones Alice DeLoraine Jones (Dove) was born October 15, 1924, in Shubuta Mississippi to Vera Temple Dove and John Sey Dove. Baptized and raised Southern Baptist. Came to California in the 1930s by Model A Ford with her mother Vera, brothers Gus and Toby Dove. From California she went to Seattle Washington during World War II and worked as a welder/riveter (Rosie the Riveter) for Boeing Aircraft. She met her Sailor Boy Kenneth W. Jones at a USO dance and soon married, moving to California after the war. Mom had a nickname of “Boots” coined for her love of cowboy boots of every kind. Her two children, Nancy S Jones and Gary W. Jones fondest memories are of Mothers great southern cooking and hospitality to all. To all our friends, Mom was everyones Mom. Feeding and caring for all, making sure others needs were taken care of before her own. We were proud to share her love because we knew some of our friends did not have the kind of love Mom gave out through her hugs and caring nature. Mom was a homemaker, cook, mender of worn clothes, nurse to scrapes, cuts and bruises as well as hurt feelings. She worked tirelessly, attending to others needs and never stopped until all deeds were complete. Mom was a Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother to Paul Brown, Craig Brown, Grant Jones, Jacqueline Jones, Austin Brown, Harper Brown, Parker Brown and Maria Russell. She was preceded in death by her mother Vera, father John, brothers Travis Edgar (Bill), Gus Temple, Bryan Paul ,John Hal and Rushing Lamar (Toby) Dove. To all whom came to know mom, she treated everyone the same as if she was their mom or grandmother. She hugged and loved us all and we will miss her dearly. The world was a far better place with her being here and now that she is gone, there is a great void only to be filled or replaced by those who love everyone unconditionally. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
