Walter "Dean" Myers

Walter “Dean” Myers 87 passed away February 16, 2022 in Meridian, Idaho. Born January 16, 1935 in Mesa, Idaho to Otto Myers & Alice Cederburg. His siblings ranged from Half to Step, but were all very dear to his heart. His beautiful wife of 48 years Marilyn Myers is left with the many memories of their travels and adventures. Between Dean & Marilyn they raised 8 children total. Mom & Dad had many adventures throughout their 48 years together. They traveled to Europe, Mexico & many places throughout the United States. Dad could tell you stories for hours, he loved to make people laugh no matter where he was. He never knew a stranger. Dad was in the Army National Guard for 42 years before he & mom decided to retire in 1990 so they could travel & make memories. (Oh, the stories he had of his 42 years in the Guard). Dad lived a big life, it would take a novel to write all the adventures from his childhood to present times. To all the family & friends, too many to list, please know dad loved you all. We all know the heavens are shining brighter now! Survived by: Wife: Marilyn Myers, Children: Deania Canterbury (Dale), Cindy Myers, Jody Rice Cowns (Preston), Debbie Emry (Ron), Kevin Mereness (Laura Lee). Sister: Dolly Glenn. He has 16 Grandkids: Robert Daniels (Gwen), Barb Daniels (Kent), Mike Daniels, Brian Daniels (Suzanne), Dawn Coleman (Charlie), Jack Kessler (Reese), Steven Rice (Jennifer), Zane Rice (Kristy), Brian Thacker, Kelsey Thacker, JR Williams ( Lea ), Amanda Williams, Abby Ellis (Andy), Autumn Mackey (Kyle), Josh Myers, Cadie Myers. He has many Great Grandkids & Great Great Grandkids too numerous to list. He loved each & everyone of us deeply! Predeceased by: Father: Otto Myers, Mother: Alice Cederburg, Sisters: Beth Myers, Trina Hiner Overlie & Georgia Hiner Hart, Brothers: Jimmy Myers, Gene & Leroy Hiner, Daughter: Debra Jean Thacker, Sons: Chuck & Michael Myers. Dad will be Inurned at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery March 3, 2022 at 2pm. Reception to follow immediately after at Summers Funeral Home (Ustick) at 3629 E Ustick Road, Meridian 83642.
