Hazel Ann (Storer) Hibbard born April 13, 1918 in Douglas Wyoming to Harvey and Elizabeth Storer, passed at home in Boise with her family on March 3, 2022 at the stout age of 103. Growing up the family moved around for work and ended up in Blackfoot, Idaho. Hazel attended nursing school in the old St. Luke's which became the first St. Als in Boise. She had to walk from downtown to Boise High School to attend math classes. She Graduated nursing school in 1936, then working as a pediatric nurse at St. Luke's before moving on to private practice working for Dr. Newcomb, the Dr. R.G. Patterson for over 20 years. Hazel married Grant Charles Hibbard in 1939. They had 3 children together. David Eugene (d. 2019), Betty Ann Searle (d. 1970) Alice Faye Sudduth. While raising 3 children and working full time, they purchased property at Silver Creek Plunge and spent many years loading up the car after work and heading to the mountains to work on building the family cabin above the pool, which they also helped build. Hazel and Grant were able to raise their children and grandchildren at the cabin, which is still in the family today. Hazel was a charter member of Peirce Park Baptist Church . They met in a day care center for a few years under Pastor Dan and then was their secretary for years. taught senior class on Sundays and played the organ and piano. Hazel taught piano lessons and played the organ or piano often every Sunday service. Hazel and Grant were married 53 years before Grants passing in 1993. They were able to travel often and eventually spent winters in Arizona. Hazel is preceded in death by daughter Betty Ann, son David Eugene, husband Grant Charles, grandson Kevin Grant, Sisters Darlene Heilman and Thelma Gurley, brother Jerry Storer. She is survived in death by daughter Alice Faye, Grandchildren Suzie, Karen, Sheri, Bobbi, Eric S, Fred, Eric H., Robert, Micheal H, Great Grand Joshua, Jacob, Keith, Kerry, Ashli, Ryan, Micheal H. Gr. Gr Grand Kash, nephew Bill. After 5 generations of love and her faith in Jesus she leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, strength, conviction, honor and home. There was always a hug, a meal and a story to tell when going to grandma's. Hazel is in Heaven playing her piano for Jesus while Grant dances to her tune.
