My Life Story Nancy Hess went to be with the Lord at the age of 70 on December 19, 2013 surrounded by loved ones at her home in Meridian following a prolonged illness. She was born December 27th 1942 in Missoula, Montana to Raymond and Viola Johnson. She grew up in Milltown, Montana, and became a Registered Nurse after graduating from St. Patrick’s School of Nursing in Missoula. She married Jay Hess on May 11, 1963. Jay’s career took them to Sandpoint, Idaho, back to Missoula, to Manassas, Virginia and finally to Boise where they have lived for the last 40 years. While raising a family, Nancy worked part-time for doctors or in hospitals wherever they lived. She shared her caring and pleasant personality with all she encountered and made many lifelong friends. She was a caregiver to many. She nursed both her best friend and her oldest daughter through cancer treatment. Earlier in life Nancy enjoyed participating in sports, especially bowling and volleyball. Later she took great pleasure in watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and school performances. She loved to do arts and crafts, often sharing these activities with her grandchildren. She much enjoyed occasional trips to Jackpot with her friends and daughters, rarely winning, but having a great time in the process. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, her children: Jill Hess, Denver; Brian Hess, Boise; Shawna and her husband, Chris Baker, Meridian; Sheryl and her husband, Kirk Reilly, Meridian; grandchildren: Brady, Cody, Tristan, Nicole, Callie and Dylan; a sister, Donna Crory and a brother, Richard Johnson. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Raymond Johnson. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 27th at 10:00 AM at Legacy Church, 1507 N. Meridian Rd. in Meridian. Remembrances may be left for the family online at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. The family wishes to thank Trinity Family Medicine and Harrison’s Hope Hospice for the compassionate care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to Harrison’s Hope Hospice, 3137 S Meridian Rd #120, Meridian, ID 83642.

We Entrusted Nancy Hess's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
