Patricia Pierce
May 8th, 1937 - April 30th, 2014
My Life Story Patricia Ann Norris Pierce, 76, of Boise, died Wednesday, April 30th. She was born to the late Evelyn Clair Scaife Norris and Julius Nelson Norris, May 8, 1937, in Pleasant Hill, Alabama. Pat graduated from Selma High School in 1955 and worked in Selma as a bank teller. Pat married Ralph Arthur Pierce on July 6, 1957, at the Craig Air Force Base chapel which was followed by a reception at her parents’ home in Pleasant Hill. With her Air Force husband from Minnesota, the Southern Belle moved to Craig Air Force Base, Alabama; Boulder, Colorado; Lowry AFB, Denver; Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska; McDill AFB, Tampa, Florida; Montgomery, Alabama; Langley AFB, Hampton, Virginia; and finally Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. Ralph retired from the USAF and the family moved to Boise in 1976. Pat was a beloved member of St. Mark’s Catholic Community for many years. She lived at the Willow Park Assisted Living Community since 2011. Throughout her life she most enjoyed fishing, shopping, and playing cards and bingo. She was never in a rush; she loved to visit with everyone she came into contact with, sharing her good humor freely. Pat is survived by her husband Ralph and three children: daughter and son-in-law Leslie Pierce and Robert Suydam of Barrow, Alaska, son and daughter-in-law Ralph Anthony “Tony” and Tori Pierce of Gavilan Hills, California, and Chris Pierce of Eagle, Idaho. She is survived by six grandchildren: Jesse Boen and his wife Alyson, Sara Thomas and her husband Michael, Ryan Pierce, Rachel Pierce, Madlyn Pierce and Benjamin Pierce. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Kedrick, Alani and Malik Thomas, and Baby Boen who is on the way. Pat fell ill and was near death in 1962, remaining in a coma for three months. She recovered, although she lost the use of her legs, and went on to enjoy fifty-two more happy years with her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to St. Mark’s Catholic School. A viewing will begin at 6 P.M. and Vigil Service will be held at 7 P.M., Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Mark’s Catholic Community, 7960 Northview St., Boise. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, May 3, 2014 also at St. Mark’s Catholic Community. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. We Entrusted Patricia Pierce's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
