My Life Story Nan G. Hall, 74 of Meridian passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Nan was born February 18, 1940 in Montpelier, Idaho to George and Nelle Gooch. She is the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1958. In 1957, she met the love of her life on a blind date, Charles “Chuck” Hall. On March 30, 1958 they were married. Chuck and Nan enjoyed the military life with their two daughters, Debbie and Nancy, traveling and living in many different places such as Washington, California, and Hawaii. During their military travels, Nan began her amazing banking career in Washington and continued her passion while moving from state to state. Then in 1965, Chuck and Nan moved to Pocatello, ID and she began working at Idaho First National Bank. In 1970 they moved to Idaho Falls, ID before settling in Boise, ID in 1979. There she began working for Citizens Bank, which later became Key Bank. Nan was very successful in her banking career with the opening and managing of several bank branches, she even survived five bank robberies during her long and memorable career. During her career she formed many lasting friendships. In 1983, Nan and Chuck began to travel on their Goldwing Motorcycle. They traveled to Canada, New Mexico, Colorado and many places in between. They’ve made lifelong friends in their travels. Nan retired from banking in 2002 due to health issues which resulted in receiving a kidney from her daughter, Debbie. The transplant was a success until 2013 when it started to fail. She began dialysis three times a week, where she became a part of the DaVita family. She met many new friends and enjoyed catching up with each one of them at her sessions. She showed such strength during this time and was so very thankful for all the help from family and friends. Nan never met a stranger and cherished her many friends and groups she was associated with. She was an active member in the GWTA, Good Sam Club, and the PEO, Chapter BC. Nan very much valued and was proud of being a parishioner of Holy Apostles Catholic Church. Nan’s family will always remember their “Nannie Stories” that were created during their adventures skiing, golfing, fishing, camping, and of course, playing cards. Trips to Jackpot and Elko were always top on her list of favorite activities. Most of all Nan loved spending time with her family. She always had a word of sage advice when asked and more than likely she would be right. She attended her grandchildren's events and cheered them on even though she usually had no knowledge of the sport they were playing. She was always ready to share her stories, usually at her own expense, and entertained us all with them. Nan is survived by her two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Rieth and Nancy (Darrell) Groves; grandchildren: Tenille (Carl) Rudeen, Michelle Groves, Sara (John) Grove and Joshua (Nicole Medina) Groves and her great grandchildren: Sydney, Gracie, Harper and Charlie, her sister, Pat Fischer. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, their son Chris, her sister Dorothy and her parents. The family would like to thank Dr. Adcox, Sarah Sparks, Dr. Powers, DaVita, St. Luke's Hospice and Advanced Home Health Care for their support and care of Nan during her illness. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Nan’s name to St. Vincent DePaul Holy Apostles Conference, P.O. Box 1215 Meridian, ID 83680 or the Meridian Food Bank, 1333 W. Broadway Ave. Meridian, ID 83642. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd. We Entrusted Nan Hall's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
