My Life Story Catherine “Kathryn” Helen Chadwick, 97, of Caldwell died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at a Caldwell hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at Dry Creek Cemetery. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. Kathryn was born on June 29, 1918 in Marshall, Kansas to Worley and Gladys Byers. She was the third child of seven children. She was the last survivor of the seven siblings. Kathryn married Fred K. Chadwick on November 2, 1936. In 1958 they moved to Idaho to join Kathryn’s two brothers. Kathryn made her own patterns from newspapers and sewed her daughters’ dresses from flour sacks. She had a passion for gardening and maintained at quarter acre garden. She was also known to be a dead shot with a pistol. She made Parker House rolls, pies and always had homemade donuts for the children on Halloween. During her last five years she lived with her daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Phil. She is survived by three daughters: Connie (Larry) Creek of Garden City, Linda (Phil) Pletcher of Caldwell and Barbara (Dan) Pletcher of Boise; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Marie Byers, Delores Byers and Jean Byers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Kathryn’s name to your local food bank.

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building.
