Life Story George David Boyack was born October 26, 1932 in Arco Idaho to Ross and Margaret (Sherman) Boyack. He passed away Saturday October 17, 2015 at a Meridian care center. George always spoke fondly of his early years in Arco surrounded by family, delivering milk by sleigh and cross country skiing at the Craters of the Moon. In 1946 his family moved to south Meridian. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1950. He joined the Navy and served on the USS Repose, a hospital ship, during the Korean War. He returned to Meridian in 1953. On March 26, 1954 he married the love of his life, Betty Bullard. They were married 50 years before Betty passed in 2004. George and Betty bought the old Blue Valley School north of Meridian and used the materials to build their home where George remained until just a few weeks before his death. Their daughter Nancy was born in November of 1961. George worked driving truck for IML freight and the for ABF freight until his retirement. George and Betty also farmed raising various crops including mint which they distilled. After George retired and rented out his farm he passed the time gardening and taking care of his grandkids. George was an avid gardener. He saved very little for himself but instead delivered vegetables all over Meridian. He was a regular coffee boy at the Express Café. He made an impression everywhere he went with his mischievous grin, sparkling blue eyes and keen sense of humor. He was an amazing husband, father, grandpa, brother, friend and neighbor. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Betty and brothers-in-law: Mike Tolley and Marvin Jensen. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Jack) Wilson; grandchildren: Audra and David Wilson; brother, Richard; sisters: Peg Tolley and Carol (Bob) Mitchell; sister-in-law, Wilma Jensen and brother-in-law, Donald (Connie) Bullard and many beloved nieces and nephews. Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
