My Life Story Cherie Powell Hunt McCandless passed away on October 16, 2016 in Boise, ID. Cherie was born September 19, 1930, in Rockford, Winnebago, Illinois, daughter of Beverley and Leland Powell. She graduated from Bremerton High class of 1948 in Seattle WA, and attended Olympic Jr. College. She enjoyed the pleasure of living in Alaska, with some of her fondest memories, as well as many years in Seattle, WA, where she met her husband, Henry George Hunt, and were married Feb 14, 1951. Cherie lived in Boise, ID most of her life, and worked for the Idaho State Legislature for many years in the Senate, and as a lobbyist for the Idaho State Farm Bureau. In 1989 she married her High school sweetheart Glenn McCandless and together they made a home in Meridian, ID where Cherie was elected to the Meridian City Council, a position she proudly held from 1999-2003. She was also an active member of the Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, Glenn McCandless, and her three children: Richard Hunt, Sharon Alejandro, and Paul (Lesley) Hunt. Her grandchildren: Jason Alejandro, Michael (Sharene) Gulbrandson, Brandon (Jamie) Hunt, Bryce Hunt, Sarah Hunt, Stuart Hunt, Josh Hunt and Celeste Hunt; great-grandchildren Brielle, Brooklyn, Jayda, and Jenna. A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. on November 5, 2016 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity 828 West Cherry Lane, Meridian, ID. We Entrusted Cherilee McCandless's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
