My Life Story Russell LeRoy Smith, 86 of Meridian, ID passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home of over two years at the lovely Touchmark at Meadow Lake Retirement Village where they enjoyed many friends. He was born on January 29, 1930 in Tower City, ND to Benjamin Franklin and Hazel Irene (Rogers) Smith. He was raised on a farm and did farm chores like milking cows the old-fashioned way. His family moved to northern Idaho and he enlisted in the Navy where he served during the Korean War on a destroyer. After his discharge, he returned to Idaho where he met and married his wife, Patricia Whitney. They were married 61 years. They moved to Seattle, WA where he worked for 33 years at Boeing aircraft where he was a riveter, working on many different aircraft from B-52's to 747's and for 15 years in Boeing's computer division. After his retirement in 1993, and Patricia's retirement in 1997, they moved to the Boise area. Their retirement included many cruises, vacations, snowmobiling and boating with their family. Russ is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Alicia and her husband, Mark Johnson of Nampa; son, Russell and his wife, Christina of Nampa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny and sister, Jeanette Wynecoop. We Entrusted Russell Smith's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
