Helen Jackson
November 30th, 1940 - December 16th, 2016
My Life Story Helen Rae Jackson, age 76, died on Friday, December 16, 2016 at a Boise hospital. Helen was born November 30, 1940 in Salem, Oregon to Hiram and Lela Reed. She was the third of three children. At an early age her family moved to Council, Idaho. She did all of her schooling in Council, Idaho. In 1959 she met and married Bill Allen Sr. With that union came three sons and a daughter: Don (Nancy), Jami (Lisa), Dena (Gene), Bill Jr. (Lisa). Bill Sr. and Helen divorced in 1972. Helen then met and married Don Jackson. With that union came Bob (Sherri) and Jeremy. Don and Helen later divorced. With a large blended family, Helen was dedicated to making all of her kids happy, by caring and loving them all the time. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. She always enjoyed watching Don, Jami, Bill Jr. and grandson Josh race several classes at Meridian Speedway. This stretched from 1976 to 2016. She continued to support and watch her kids grow and become individuals. She always said “I don’t care if you become a garbage man, just be the best one in the company”. Several of us took her advice and became garbage men. She was a people person. She worked at the Ranch Club for a number of years and settled down at Hewlett Packard in Boise where she retired. She made lifelong friendships at HP. Along with her love and compassion for people was her love for animals. Over the years she had many dogs that were treated as well as family members, sometimes even better. She will be greeted by all her dogs that left her to go to the big bark park in Heaven. Helen was very close to her granddaughter’s Jennifer and Alyssa. They spent many hours planning and dreaming about anything and everything. We would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise for all their compassion and extraordinary care for not only our mother, but for our whole family. Helen is survived by her children: Don (Nancy), Bob (Sherry), Jami (Lisa), Bill (Lisa), and Jeremy; grandchildren: Josh, Randy, Matt, Chris, Nick, Justin, Jennifer, Ashley, Kodi, Alyssa, Heidi and Donald and three great grandchildren and her dog Abby. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents; parents; brother, Lee Reed; sister, Faye Reed; daughter, Dena and grandson, Brandon. Services will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Meridian Friends Church, 1021 West Pine Avenue in Meridian, Idaho at 2:00 pm under the direction of Accent Funeral Home in Meridian. Officiating will be Verlyn Brower, Meridian Fire Department Chaplain. Reception to follow, details at service. In lieu of flowers Mom would like donations be made to Meridian Valley Humane Society, 191 North Linder Road Meridian Idaho 83642.

We Entrusted Helen Jackson's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
