Harvey A. Thompson of Springfield died March 13, 2016, of age related causes. He was born September 17, 1925 in Edgar, NE, to Joseph and Pearl Thompson. Harvey married Margaret "Ann" Hamilton on February 21, 1948, in Seattle, WA. She died on August 29, 1986. He was a tailgunner on a B-17 in WWII. He worked 37 years for the Army Corps of Engineers. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family. Survivors include a son Charles L. Thompson of Springfield, daughter Judy Shaw of Fall Creek; Grandchildren Terry Shaw of Springfield, Jeffrey Shaw of Springfield, Sharon Olson of Monroe, and Ricky Kelley of Umatilla; and many great grandchildren. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his daughter Lou Ann Oak, and granddaughter Brook Ann Thompson. There will be a visitation at Lane Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2016, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service with Military Honors at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Lane Memorial Funeral Home.
