Donald Don Oscarson
March 21st, 1952 - May 28th, 2018
Obit Donald Keith Oscarson was born on March 21, 1952 to Oscar and Lourie Oscarson, in Spokane, Washington. Don is a first generation American and has remained fiercely proud of his American citizenship throughout his life. Don was joined by his sister, Debbie in 1954 and his brother Dwaine, in 1956. The three of them spent most of their childhood growing up in Missoula, Montana, getting into all sorts of mischief together! The Oscarson family moved to Browning, Montana as Don entered high school. Don excelled in sports and academics, becoming class president. At Browning High School, he met his high school sweetheart, Kathy Mclaughlin, who he married the day after graduation. Don and Kathy brought to the world a son Scott and a daughter Misty. His high intellect and his love of the ocean took him to Corvallis, Oregon. Here he attended Oregon State University, to pursue his dream of becoming an oceanographer. Life changed his plans as it so often does, taking him and his young family back to Montana, where he worked alongside his father in the timber industry. Don loved spending his days in the magnificent back country of the Montana and Idaho forests falling trees, becoming an excellent sawyer, and winning more than losing at various sawing competitions. In 1978 Don changed occupations and moved to the car business. He excelled in his roles as Parts and Service Manager and Director, earning multiple Ford Motor Co. awards for outstanding excellence and achievement. This change, moved him to Boise Idaho in 1980. In June, 1983, he married Becky Owen, they brought to the world daughters, Jennifer and Valerie. Boise became his permanent home, where he continued to work in heavy construction and landscape, being once again in the outdoors where he was most comfortable. He ultimately began his own business in 2008, providing both large and small landscape and construction services throughout the Valley. His generosity and quest for perfection with every job, earned him the respect and friendship of literally hundreds of people, many who he came to call friends. All of whom he would willingly share a laugh and a beer with! At the time of his death, he was again serving others, by taking down yet another rotten tree, on a beautiful Sunday morning. Don is survived by his sister, Debbie (Jeff) and brother, Dwaine (Kris); his children: Scott (Amber), Misty, Jennifer (Mike) and Valerie (Mike); grandchildren: Rylian, Dylan, Ethan and a baby girl to arrive in August 2018, along with so many dear friends. He is sorely missed by all who love him. A celebration of his life is planned for June 2018. Remembrances may be left for Don’s family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home and Cremation, Meridian.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
