Yvonne Aune
December 22nd, 1934 - May 16th, 2012
Yvonne LaVeta Aune went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at a care facility in Boise after a courageous 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10am, Thursday May 24th at the Linder Road Church of Christ in Meridian. Yvonne was born Dec 22, 1934 in Tulsa, OK to Otis and LaVeta Daniel. Her father was a minister of the gospel, so her childhood was spent moving across the country to wherever God called them. She graduated from high school in Brady, TX in 1953. Yvonne was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. After starting on the piano at age 15, she developed into a skillful player. On June 1, 1956, Yvonne married Harold Mathes and they lived in several cities including Lubbock, TX, Alexandria, VA, and Billings, MT, before settling in Boise. They were blessed by God to be able to adopt their two children, Tryna and Stephen. Yvonne worked mostly in the banking industry in Boise, including 15 years at Idaho First National Bank. In 1992, Yvonne married Marvin Aune and moved to Nampa, ID. Yvonne loved pets, watching BSU games, quilting, working in her yard, and serving Jesus her Savior. She was well known for growing beautiful roses and house plants. She was always a very happy, positive person with a lot of ambition. She was an active member of the Linder Road Church of Christ and involved in several of the congregation’s ministries. Survivors include her son, Steve Mathes (Leslie), Meridian, ID; daughter Tryna Kochanek, Medina, OH; two sisters, Gloria English, Ft. Worth, TX and Donna Lemley, Princeton, TX; a brother, Richard Daniel, Branson, MO; granddaughter, Jordan Mathes; grandsons, Mitchell Kochanek and Andrew Mathes; along with multiple nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin Aune. If you wish to make a gift in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research (lustgarten.org).

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
