Michael Miska

Michael Miska Michael ‘Muskrat’ Joseph Miska, 62, of Marcola, Oregon passed away peacefully on December 31, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born on July 21, 1953 in Coquille, Oregon to Myron ‘Mike’ and Josephine ‘Jo’ (Gaedtke) Miska. After Mike graduated in 1971 from Coquille High School he served in the United States Army, before returning to Oregon to attend Southern Oregon University and the University of Oregon. Mike eventually settled in Marcola where he raised his children Heather and Joey. Children Luke and Abby expanded the family when Mike married their mother Connie Norton in 2001 (Connie passed in November 2004). Cindy Parker then joined the family in May 2014 when she and Mike married. Mike was the owner/operator of Miska Dental Maintenance where he worked for many years repairing dental equipment. He enjoyed backpacking, golfing, coaching high school wrestling, rock hunting, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Parker) Miska, children; Luke (Amber) Norton, Abby (David) Flores, Heather Miska, and Joey Miska; five grandchildren, Hannah, Jessica, Cash, Cruz, and Jadalyn; his mother, Josephine Miska; and siblings Patti (Cliff) Groat, Pam (Russ) Pratt, Kim (Jerry) Gregory, Rick (Lori) Miska, and Jodi (Kelly) Carsh. He was preceded in death by his wife Connie Norton-Miska and father Myron Miska. A celebration of life will be held on January 16th at 2 pm at the Marcola Christian Church.
