Craig Mathew Simmons

Craig passed away at his home in Meridian on May 4, 2021. He was born on February 3, 1964 to parents Chuck and Judy Simmons. He was a carefree and happy child, seeking action and adventure and testing any limits from the moment he started walking. Craig graduated from Boise High in 1982, and attended Boise State. He spent several years working for his Uncle Jerry in Filer, Idaho, and had a lot of great memories from that time. Craig was extremely mechanical and could spend hours taking things apart and putting them back together. He worked for Primary Weapons Systems the past nine years as a machinist and quality control inspector and enjoyed the complexity of his work, as well as his many co-workers. One of Craig’s coworkers said that Craig had a big heart; that he truly cared about people, and that he was very dependable –- a willing team player and problem solver. Prior to his PWS career he worked for Flying Pie for many years, and treasured those relationships as well. He loved to cook and bake – and we are fortunate to have some of his sometimes complicated but amazing recipes. He had a wide and varied group of friends, and was very loyal to them and his family. He liked to ski, mountain bike and golf, and shared many hunting and fishing adventures with his dad and his pals. He liked whitewater rafting, a good conversation, and fast cars – and fixing up old ones. Craig was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Simmons. He is survived by his mother, Judy Simmons of Meridian, his sister, Ann (Darin) DeAngeli of Boise, a nephew, Frank DeAngeli of Boise and niece Emma DeAngeli of Durham, North Carolina.
