Kent Earl Wilson died peacefully surrounded by his wife, daughter, family and friends May 4, 2023 at his home in Meridian, Idaho after a short battle with cancer. Kent was born November 2, 1968 in Bellevue, Washington to Jim and Nita Wilson. He moved to Idaho shortly after and attended Boise schools. He is survived by his wife, Kari; daughter, Charlie (James) Nutt; son, James (Kristi) Marlatt; granddaughter, Madison; father, Jim (Sandee); siblings: Chip (Vickie) Hudson, Rock (Joli) Hudson; and many special nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own: Tanner, Macie, Brielle, Blake, Paisley, Braxton and Makayla Besides spending time with the friends and family, he had a great passion for motor sports. He spent many hours at Firebird, drag racing, until he finally received his Wally at the Night Fire Nationals. He spent many days on the boat fishing with Kari and pulling anyone who was brave enough to get on a tube when he was driving. His laugh was contagious and he always had a song in his head that he frequently serenaded us with. He was the kind of person you wanted as a friend. He would drop everything in an instant when you needed him. Whether it be at 3 am, or 300 miles away he would be ready to go. He was great father and best friend to Charlie. Whether she needed him for a project or a partner in crime he was ready for the adventure with her. He also enjoyed rebuilding a camper with his son-in-law James. Madison is his pride and joy. From putting her in the dragster as an infant to boating or even work around the house she was right there with her shovel. We can not forget when it was time to work on the race car she was elbows deep with Her papa. Kent was able to build his dream shop he finished in January with help from family and friends. This was his goal he set before his time here on earth would come to an end. He worked many years at Jim’s Drive Train. Kent had many fond memories of Jim and the boys at the cabin, snowmobiling, fishing and drag racing. He was currently employed at Knife River. Thank you to Bret and the whole crew at Knife River for the support these last 5 months and End of Life Celebration they helped with. Kent was preceded in death by his mother, Nita Wilson; in laws, Harold and Candy Hudson; uncle Gene; aunt Diane; aunt Holly; friend, Jeff and nephew, Arlo Hudson. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 12th from 4-7 PM at Accent Funeral Home.

We Entrusted Kent Wilson's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
