Carol Ann Roberts
June 4th, 1936 - August 30th, 2023
Carol Ann Roberts was born June 4, 1936, in Allen, NE. She passed away unexpectedly while at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Nampa, ID on August 30, 2023. Carol is remembered for her lovely singing voice, her faith, and her love for family. She began singing in high school and her sweet 1st soprano won her awards and invitations to sing at weddings and funerals. It also won the heart of Duane Roberts, her childhood sweetheart, who loved her for over 70 years. She attended the Nebraska State Teachers College at Wayne, NE earning a two-year degree, and a job teaching kindergarten. She and Duane married a year later on June 9, 1957, and moved to Idaho on their honeymoon. Carol was a teacher to many kindergarteners in her home-based private kindergarten, including their three daughters Debbie, Nancy, and Barbie. When kindergartens opened in public schools, Carol returned to college to earn her bachelor’s degree. She graduated from Boise State University in 1976 and was hired by the Boise School District, where she taught for the next 20 years at McKinley, Whitney, Jefferson, Taft, and Maple Grove elementary schools. When she wasn’t at school, Carol loved reading, growing flowers, and going to cultural events. She sang in the Boise women’s Madrigals and was a volunteer usher for the Morrison Center for 25 years. Carol’s faith was central to her life. Confirmed into the Lutheran Church as a child, she joined the Friends Church when she married. Over the years she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, attended Bible studies, and served on committees. She was devoted to praying, especially for her family, and her Bibles are filled with personal notes and prayers for loved ones. During retirement, Carol and Duane had a full life of travel, volunteering, and spending time with their nine grandchildren. The joy of her life in recent years was welcoming great-grandchildren into the family. She was a beloved grandma and great grandma who showered them all with cards and letters, signing them with a heart. Carol will be dearly missed by her special Thursday lunch group, some of whom she’d known for over 60 years. They were her support group, prayer warriors and gossip buddies. Many laughs and tears were shared over the years, and she treasured her time with them. Carol is preceded in death by her three siblings and her husband Duane. Surviving are her daughters Debbie (Mike) Royer of Hermiston, OR, Nancy Roberts, with whom she lived in Meridian, ID and Barbara Sherman of Cascade, ID, nine grandchildren and their families, and cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. A private graveside ceremony will be held at Greenleaf Cemetery, Greenleaf, ID where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Duane. A celebration of life service for Carol Ann will be held on September 23, 2023 at 2:00pm at Meridian Friends Church, Meridian ID. Live streaming will be available on Facebook at Meridian Friends Church. Memorial donations may be made to Meridian Friends Church.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
