Mementos

Today, we celebrate the wonderful life of Patricia "Pat" Hopkins, our most wonderful Mother and Grandmother, Sister and friend. Mom passed away at home, surrounded by her daughters, grandsons, and all 7 of her great grandchildren on Saturday, 30 December 2023. Mom was born in Clinton, Missouri on 23 June 1944. Her senior year of high school, she moved with her family to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she met her loving husband, Ted Hopkins, who was stationed there in the Air Force. In the mid-1970s, Mom and Dad moved our family to Buhl, Idaho and bought a small farm. Mom loved and embraced the farm life, especially gardening, canning, raising our own meat and learning to ride horses. She was a natural as a farm wife and mother. When her children were grown and moved, Mom and Dad moved to Boise. For the past 2 years, she has lived with her daughter, Karla, which came with the added bonus of being next door to her grandsons, Logan and Samuel, and her 7 great grandchildren. Mom was happiest with her family, no matter the occasion. We will always cherish the memories of camping trips, yard sales on Saturday mornings, visiting her favorite ocean beaches in Oregon and California, trips to see her daughter and family in California, backyard parties, church parties, sitting outside on the veranda, and football games. Mom was an avid Denver Bronco and Boise State Bronco fan and we rarely missed a game. Her hobbies included baking, cooking, reading and knitting. She would spend time everyday knitting hats and scarves. For the past couple of years, she would keep the hats in our car, along with a candy bar and $5 to hand out to those less fortunate and it would always bring a smile. We will feel a deep void with Mom's passing but we are comforted by God's grace and promises, knowing we'll be together again in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ted Hopkins; son Kevin Hopkins; son-in-law, Jeff Kimball; and precious great granddaughter, Teddi Noelle Kimball. Mom is survived by her daughters: Krystal (Jimmy) DeBilzan and Karla Kimball and her siblings: Mike Jackson and Kathie (Mark) Winger. Her grandchildren treasured their time with her: Logan (Leslie) and Sam (Mariana) Kimball, Kourtney, Maddie and Wyatt DeBilzan. Her great grandchildren were so lucky to have spent many wonderful days and hours with her: Channing Ford (14), Kimberlynn Kimball (10), Callahan Kimball (8), Niko Espinosa (8), Trenton Kimball (6), Beau Kimball (2), Finley Kimball (1). Mom will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

We Entrusted Patricia Hopkins's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
