Raymond Hemminger Raymond Wilbur Hemminger 1922 - 2015 Raymond Wilbur Hemminger, born in Montcalm County, Michigan on May 12, 1922, was welcomed into eternity by his parents Irvin M. and Goldia (Sumner) Hemminger on October 24, 2015. He passed in his home in Springfield, Oregon lying next to his adoring wife, Dorothy G. Hemminger, whom he married on April 21, 1950. He hopes to join his siblings in glory, Carl and Delbert Hemminger and Elsie Kubiak as well as his son Stanley Hemminger and his granddaughter Nikki. He is survived by his brother Wilbur Hemminger and sister Lucille Flaugher. He has left a legacy of children and grandchildren. Raymond Hemminger Jr and Stanley Hemminger (who is with him in eternity), both born to his first wife Elsie. Their children Christy Meeks, Raymond Hemminger III, Candy Meriweather, Angel Hemminger, Linda McCalister, Jerry Hemminger, Stanley L Hemminger, K. Scott Hemminger and Timothy Hemminger. Born to his surviving wife, Dorothy, are Cherrill Hemminger (married to Carroll Williams), Daniel Hemminger (married to LeeAnne), Randall Hemminger (married to Cherie), Brenda (Hemminger) Goss (married to John Goss), Richard Hemminger (married to Brenda Lee) and Raymond's step son Michael Becker. Grandchildren are Korey and Joel Williams, Danielle McCoy, Nikki Hemminger-Curran (who went on before him), Alisha Lundstrom, Angeletta Linn, Ryan Goss, Jennifer Rothnie, Karalissa Goss, and Cheylene Becker-Varto. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren survive him. Raymond served in the army in WWII from 1942 to 1945 and was a Purple Heart recipient. He loved God, family, Country, nature and traveling. He enjoyed studying the Bible and was a member of the Church of God 7th Day of Eugene, Oregon. He belonged to the VFW and Eagles clubs and loved to dance. Ray enjoyed getting together with family and he and Dorothy enjoyed hosting great Thanksgiving feast. He worked as an auto body & fender man for 45 years to provide for his family. Raymond was an innovative inventor always finding a way to make something functional out of whatever he had, improving stuff for safety and efficiency. A memorial service will be held for him at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home - 7305 Main Street, Springfield Oregon 97478 on November 7, 2015 at 2:00. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, but we take great comfort in knowing that we will see him again in eternity.
