Mario Gonzalez Jr., 46, of Homedale died Saturday, November 23, 2013, near Glenns Ferry, Idaho, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mario was born to Mario Gonzalez, Sr. and Abelina Lopez on October 15, 1967 in Edinburg, Texas. He was raised and educated in Texas and moved to Idaho in 1988. He married Korene Castilleja in 1989 in Caldwell and resided in Homedale. Mario worked for Lava River Forestry for many years. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting with his kids, his family was his life. Mario is survived by his wife, Korene Gonzalez; children, Perla, Mario III and Joshua; two grandchildren, Drake and Mason; parents, Mario and Abelina; sister, Letty and brother, Fabian. A Dad is a special gift, one you think will stay, you never dream the day will come, when he will be taken away. If there is another life, and we are born once more, I pray that God will give me, the Dad I had before. A rosary will be celebrated Monday, December 2, 2013, 7:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale with viewing starting at 5:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 3, 2013, 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell with graveside service to follow at Marsing Homedale Cemetery. Service Information
