James L. Clausen, 85 of Caldwell died Friday, October 11, 2013 at a Caldwell hospital. He was the oldest of 12 children, born April 29, 1928 to Henry and Rose (Paine) Clausen in Newport, Nebraska. He attended school in Nebraska and was in the US Army in the latter part of WWII. After he was honorably discharged he began working on farms in Nebraska and Wyoming. He was employed in California, Washington and Oregon. He later moved to Idaho where he spent the rest of his life. James enjoyed fishing, camping, listening to western music and enjoyed dancing. He had no biological children but helped to raise three step children from two different marriages. He is survived by siblings; Anna Crawford of Middleton, ID; Allen Ray (Laura) Clausen of Nampa; Vern (Janise) Clausen of Oakdale, Nebraska; Gletha (Bill) Forester of Amarillo, TX.; Lyle Clausen of Nampa, ID.; Louis Clausen of Marsing, ID.; Audrey McDaniel of Caldwell, ID.; Sharon (Bob) Henley of New Plymouth, ID.; Raydean (Don) Ames of Caldwell, ID and a sister- in-law Sandra Clausen of Caldwell, ID, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose Clausen and two brothers, Francis and Alvin Clausen and a sister- in-law, Susan Clausen. A Memorial Service for James will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
