Archie Donald Lowman
March 22nd, 1935 - October 5th, 2013
Archie Donald Lowman was born March 22, 1935 in Bridger, Montana and passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Boise, Idaho. He was the 1st of 9 children born to Jesse and Emma Lowman. Archie joined the Navy on June 3, 1952 and served much of his time on the island of Guam as a crane operator. He talked often about those times. He was discharged April 26, 1955 and returned to Montana and went to work installing underground pipe from Montana to Boise, Idaho. While in Boise, he met Pauline Chitwood and on September 1, 1957 they were married at the Franklin Community Church. Archie and Pauline went into the service station business for the next 32 years in Caldwell. Archie then went to work for Lanny Berg Chevrolet for 10 years. He retired in 2000. Archie had very fond memories of all his customers and friends while in the service station business. He enjoyed fishing, car rides, family reunions, and talking about Montana. Pauline died October 14, 1994. Archie remarried to Beverly Clayton in May of 1996. They lived in Caldwell and took many trips with friends around the country. They divorced in April of 2006. Archie moved to Meridian in April 2006 due to health issues to be closer to family to help with his care. He is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Lowman, his parents Jesse & Emma, Grandparents Detlef & Mina Thormalen; siblings; Bill Lowman, Albert Lowman, Dorothy & Jerry Vetter, Marlene Lowman & his niece Cheryl Lowman He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Heidi Lowman, Boise, Idaho and daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jon Martin, Vancouver, Washington; grandsons Stephen Lowman, Berlin Germany, Bryan Lowman, Boise, Idaho and Spencer Martin, Vancouver Washington; Siblings Bob Lowman of Park City, MT; Pat Wood (Brad) of Vista, CA; Jeanette Schuck of Billings MT; Arnold Lowman of Boyd MT; Evelyn Lowman (Ray) of Billings, MT; sister-in-law Donna York of Weiser ID plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Special thanks to the Boise VA Hospital, Avamere Transitional Care and Rehab, Legacy Home Health & Hospice, and Marge and Mel Schrank for always visiting and helping with his care. A viewing will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, ID on Thursday, Oct 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, Oct. 11 2013 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment with military honors will be at 1:00 PM Friday, at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association for research, 111 S. Orchard St. Suite 200, Boise, Idaho 83705. Service Information
