Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
John A. Shaw
June 25th, 2013
John Arthur Shaw, 78, of Caldwell, went to be with his Heavenly Father June 25, 2013 at home surrounded by his wife and family. John was a committed family man, sang in church choir, enjoyed working in his garden, playing cards and he told stories like no other. He loved having Fourth of July family celebrations. John was retired but worked part time at Bowen Floor Supply which was more of a dear friendship with Ardel and Sherry Bowen than a job. He had many friends whom all enjoyed his story-telling. John had a great life and lived it to the fullest. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Donna; six children, Dona (Charles) Springer, Mary (David) Volpi, Kim Kniep, Dawn (Johnny) Rivera, Gary (Wendi) Shaw, John (Maureen) Shaw; sisters, Mary Mandy, Kathy Brown; brothers, Michael Shaw and Patrick Shaw. He also is survived by 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 expected any day. He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Anne, brother Lawrence, and first wife “Penny”. The family will greet friends and family at a viewing on Sunday, June 30, 2013, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass for John will be celebrated Monday, July 1, 2013, 10:00 AM, also at the church, under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Interment will follow the at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery, in Boise at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent in John’s honor to The Servants of Mary Servite Order at 1439 South Harlem Ave. Berwyn, IL 60402.
