Carmela "Real" Priore
March 21st, 1949 - May 5th, 2013
Carmela Priore, 64, of Caldwell, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 of natural causes at her residence surrounded by family. Carmela was born March 21, 1949 in Berkley, California to Isadore and Carmalita Real. She graduated from Berkley University with a master’s degree in engineering and worked as a missile mechanic at the Alameda Naval Base for over 20 years. She owned and ran a coffee shop called Candy’s Coffee Shop and also enjoyed being a cocktail waitress and a bartender. She loved meeting new people; everyone that knew her loved her and fondly called her “mama”. Candy loved to play blackjack at the casinos. She was a very generous lady and never complained about how much pain she was in. She was the most caring and loving person you could ever meet and always had a smile on her face no matter what. Mama will forever be missed, she brought so much happiness and joy to everyone she knew. Candy left behind a husband, Nicola Priore; two sons, Michael and Antonio Priore; three grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, 11:30AM, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with graveside service to follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
