September 14th, 1930 - July 3rd, 2012
Paul Isaac Martinez Sr. passed away July 3 after a full 81 years of life. He died of natural causes, as he slept peacefully at his home in Caldwell, ID. Paul was born on September 14, 1930 in Monte Vista Colorado. His parents were the late Noverto and Perfecta (Trujillo) Martinez. Paul served in Korea in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. He was married to Victoria Gurule Martinez on February 9, 1954 in Taos New Mexico. He was a comfort for many in distressing times and, along with his wife, raised seven children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He took great pride in his family and loved them unconditionally. Paul was a beloved member of a large family. He is survived by six children; Rosalie Martinez, Pauline Carbajal, Bobby Martinez, Paul Martinez Jr., Victor Martinez, and Veronica (Michael) Martinez-Blodgett, 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. His brothers; Arthur (Lori) Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Jose (Pauline) Martinez, Philip (Carol) Martinez and sisters; Sarah Ortiz, Martina Martinez and Clara (John) Cabrera also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Amos Gurule, brothers; Fred Martinez, Noverto Martinez Jr., Solomon Martinez, Charles Martinez and sisters; Perfecta Romero and Jean Grijalva.
