Israel Navarro Rodriguez, 68 of Wilder, Idaho passed away on the morning of March 30, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife Beatrice and his two sons Reymundo and Daniel as he returned to our Heavenly Father. Israel was born on July 9, 1943 in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the son of the late Guillermo and Ruperta Rodriguez. He touched many lives with his acts of kindness and friendship but will be known for the impact he had on those closest to him. Israel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, baseball coach and friend to those who will never forget his smile, laughter and love. Israel came to Idaho in 1963 at the young age of 20 with his older brother Rodrigo in search of work to provide for their vast family in Mexico and Texas. In the year of 1964, he met the love of his life, Beatrice and they were married on June 14th, 1965. Their joy was enhanced by the birth of their two sons, Reymundo in 1966 and Daniel in 1969. They settled down in Wilder as he was employed by Gross Farms in 1967 and continued to work with the Gross Family (Hank, Doug & Raymond) for the next 44 years until retirement. He always looked forward to the harvest season as it gave him a great sense of accomplishment and pride in harvesting the fruits of his labor. The Rodriguez family would like to express to the Gross family their gratitude as both families were integral in each other’s growth and successes. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Beatrice, his son Reymundo Rodriguez; his son Daniel Rodriguez and his wife Veronica; brother Rodrigo Rodriguez; sisters Benita Fernandez and Maria Luz Estevane; brothers-in- law Jesus De Leon and his wife Yolanda & family, Jaime De Leon Jr and his wife Magdalena & family, Domingo De Leon; sisters-in-law Ofeila Massengale & family, Estella De Leon and Margarita De Leon. One of his greatest joys is his grandchildren Issac, Adan, Jeramiah, Isaak, Noah and Yasenia who now have their greatest guardian angel watching over them. The Rodriguez family would like to thank St. Luke’s Hospital, Mountain States Tumor Institute, Hearts for Hospice for assisting in providing care which allowed Israel the opportunity to stay with us a little longer to share, laugh and love together before his final journey. We know that he is harvesting in heaven and watching over us with loving care. A viewing will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, Idaho. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 6, 2012, 1:00 PM at the Crossroads Assembly of God Church, 20444 Highway 95 Wilder, Idaho, with graveside service to follow at the Wilder Cemetery.
