Marjorie LaRue, 94, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Marjorie was the second of five children born to Clyde and Ella (Carson) Cooley on August 19, 1916 in Glenwood, Minnesota. She went to a country school through 8th grade and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1934. In 1935 the family moved to Caldwell, Idaho and Marjorie worked for several ladies doing housework. It was during this time she met Jack LaRue who would become her life time partner. They were married December 2, 1937 by a local pastor. They lived in Central Cove area where Jack farmed and both daughters were born. In the fall of 1942 they moved Northwest of Caldwell to the Enrose community and farmed there until 1988 when they moved into Caldwell. In all the years Marjorie lived on the farm, she always grew a sizable garden and did lots of canning and freezing for her family's winter supply of food. She also grew beautiful roses, lilacs and different kinds of flowers. She was a Godly woman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always there to help her children and grandchildren, lending a hand to friends and neighbors and sharing in their joys and sorrows. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Notus for over 60 years and held several positions in the church; Sunday School teacher, Treasurer for the missions, and President of Woman's Mission Fellowship. She was a member of the Enrose Community Club for many years and belonged to a pinochle club when she lived in Caldwell. After Marjorie and Jack retired they took several trips which they enjoyed, going to California, Hawaii, Alaska, New England, Canada, Europe and the Southern States. Majorie and Jack belonged to the Model T Club for many years and went on several trips with other members in their old cars. Every year on Labor Day weekend the club made their annual trip to McCall in their old cars. In December of 2005, she had a heart attack and moved into Karcher Estates where she resided until her death. She is survived by a daughter Joyce (Jack) Reese of Caldwell, a sister Ruth (Warren) Wulf of Idaho Falls, a brother Dean (Peggy) Cooley of Cedar City, Ut, six grandchildren; Tonya Collins and Tammy Hinkle of Caldwell, Charles (Trista) Hinkle of Boise of Boise, Brent (Penny) Hinkle of Quartzsite, AZ, Doug Reese of Caldwell, and Debbie (Mike) Moodie of Boise. Six great grandchildren, Andrew Collins, Cody Hagen, Hillary Hinkle, Steve Hinkle, Brianne and Sara Moodie. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, a daughter Joanne Hinkle, a sister Margaret Fuelling and a brother Charles Cooley. The family wishes to express their heart-felt thanks to Journey's Hospice, Debbie VanMeter and her staff in assisted living at Karcher Estates for their loving care of Mom while she was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to First Baptist Church of Notus at PO Box 255 Notus, ID 83656, or a charity of your choice.
